Ricon ramp features reduced slope

Ricon Corp.’s (A Division of Vapor Bus International, A Wabtec Co.) new FoldOver 1:6 Ramp for low-floor bus features a reduced ramp slope for mobility-challenged passengers. The new ramp complies with all applicable ADA regulations and is designed for use by wheelchair users, the elderly, children and others.

The completely waterproof electric motor/control package is easy to operate and maintain. Rugged, stainless steel ramp platform construction provides high flexural rigidity to assure edge alignment with uneven curb or road surfaces.

The ramp, which is currently featured on the Metro Transit fleet serving the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, deploys and stows in seconds and includes an obstruction detection system that maintains positive control after an obstruction is detected.
