Madison committee endorses more costly paratransit service

MADISON, Wis. — On Monday, Madison's financial committee endorsed Badger Bus for a new Metro Transit paratransit service contract for the disabled, even though it will cost more than the second highest scorer in the bidding a process. The contract, which must still be considered by the Transit and Parking Commission and City Council, is worth $2.23 million for 2010 through 2012, plus two option years, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
