Andrew Aiello, a Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) employee since 2004, was selected as the agency's new GM.

Currently TANK's deputy GM, external and government affairs, Aiello assumed the agency's helm on Monday. As GM, Aiello will be responsible for the overall management of the organization.

Aiello's promotion marks the first time in TANK history that the agency has employed a GM directly. In the past, the position has always been a contract position with a transit management company.

"The decision to become a "self managed" transit agency required a long and arduous process of evaluating the talents within the staff," commented Board of Directors Chair, Jean Miller. "The TANK board members are confident that the employees at TANK are dedicated, knowledgeable and very effective at what they do. Andrew has the full support of the TANK board in his new role. "

Aiello will replace Mary Lou Franzoni, who served as TANK's GM for the last three years through a contract with First Transit Inc.
