Honesdale, Pa.-based Wayne County Transportation System (WCTS) selected RouteMatch Software Inc.'s RouteMatch TS software for automated routing, scheduling and coordination of the City's paratransit services.
The transit system provides shared-ride and demand-response transportation services throughout Wayne County and select destinations outside the region. The service is provided directly by the Counties seven administrative personnel using a fleet of approximately twenty five vehicles.
The RouteMatch paratransit management system is designed to streamline operations and create improved schedules and routes, allowing Wayne County to be more efficient with its resources.
In addition, RouteMatch and Wayne County worked together to identify a suite of needed administrative and state compliant reports to ensure that the system provides all necessary analysis tools to monitor and improve the county transit service.
In the future, WCTS has plans to integrate the RouteMatch system with advanced GPS and mobile data computing technology. This future technology will improve rider safety and assist operations through real-time vehicle tracking and communication of trips and trip changes to drivers in real time.
