MCI delivers to Quebec, New Orleans

Autocar Hélie, the charter operation of the 56-year-old Groupe Hélie based in Becancour, Québec, added two new Motor Coach Industries (MCI) J4500s to its fleet.

The company bought its first MCI coach, a pre-owned J4500, last year. According to Solange Poulin, head of customer service, the three 56-seat MCI models will top out a 20-coach fleet at the family-owned company, now run by three sons of founder Bruno Hélie – Pierre, Jocelyn and Normand.

The J4500s feature electronic stability control, a tire-pressure monitoring system and a Cummins ISM engine.

Additionally, New Orleans-based David Tours Inc. has recently taken delivery of brand new D-Series coach.

David Tours’ newest MCI D4505 features plush, reclining seats, comes equipped with clean-diesel engine technology powered by a Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine and ZF Astronic transmission. The D4505 also includes individual overhead reading lights and airflow controls, and enclosed parcel racks.
