N.Y. bus drivers average 3 months paid leave for being spat upon

According to statistics of assaults on bus operators released Monday by New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), 51 operators took paid leave for being spat upon. These drivers took on average the equivalent of three months off with pay, which has been deemed "troubling" as the MTA is faced with a $400M budget shortfall, the New York Times reported.
