Board member requests audit of S. Carolina U. transportation center

CHARLESTON, S.C. — South Carolina State University board member Maurice Washington will ask trustees to approve an audit of the James E. Clyburn University Transportation Center, according to The Post and Courier. More than $50 million has flowed to the center since 1998, however, the site for a new building sits vacant, no transportation research is currently under way and the program lost its designation as a federal transportation center.
