Martha's Vineyard to use Trapeze/AssetWorks system

Martha's Vineyard Transit Authority (VTA) chose a comprehensive product that bridges the data and communication gap between operations and fleet management.

The built-in integration between Trapeze operations management systems and AssetWorks FleetFocus fleet management software can help the transit agency lower costs through better resource management and allocation, as well as through improved productivity and increased vehicle availability, according to a company statement.

This integrated product can help Martha's Vineyard in the following ways:

  • Improved Vehicle Availability — Trapeze operations management program provides all details regarding upcoming vehicle requirements to the FleetFocus maintenance management screens. Changes made in the system are communicated to the maintenance group in real-time. This can help VTA transit managers maintain an updated inventory of vehicles, which helps them meet both service and maintenance requirements.
  • Streamlined Service Requests/Incident Reporting — The timely reporting of service requests and incidents can help the agency expedite their maintenance processes. Operators now have a way to create service/incident requests both during the vehicle inspection and while the vehicle is in service. The integrated AssetWorks and Trapeze system allows information to flow from the vehicle into the operations management system, which then automatically alerts and updates the fleet management system in real-time.

VTA provides year-round public transit service to the six towns of Martha's Vineyard: Aquinnah, Chilmark, Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Tisbury and West Tisbury. Its fixed-route service varies throughout the year, depending on the seasonal travel demand.
