MCI received notification that its main manufacturing facilities operated by Motor Coach Industries Ltd., Motor Coach Industries Inc. and Frank Fair Industries Ltd, have been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification. This is MCI's first corporate-wide certification.

Since 1996, MCI's primary manufacturing facilities began holding individual ISO 9001 certifications; however, this is MCI's first multi-facility certification. Under this program, third-party audits take place twice a year, with re-registration occurring every three years.

ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the world's largest developer and publisher of International Standards. The ISO 9001 standard addresses "Quality Management." This means what the organization does to fulfill the customer's quality requirements and applicable regulatory requirements, while aiming to enhance customer satisfaction and achieve continual improvement of its performance in pursuit of these objectives.

"This is an important certification for MCI to achieve," said Ken Russell, senior vice president of operations and customer support. "The certification points to our constant and consistent quality goals, underscoring why our coaches are respected within the industry for their build quality, smooth ride and longevity."
