South Florida agency wins accounting award

The Finance Department of the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) won a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.

The Certificate is awarded to government units and public employee retirement systems whose comprehensive annual financial reports (CAFRs) achieve the highest standards in government accounting and financial reporting.

"The fact that the Accounting Department has won this award every year since 1992 is a tribute to them for the transparency and accuracy of the records they keep," said SFRTA Executive Director Joseph Giulietti.
