WICHITA, Kan. — kake.com reports that Wichita’s Central Rail Corridor was recently named a regional winner in the America’s Transportation Awards national competition. A joint effort of the City of Wichita, the Kansas Department of Transportation and other entities, the project involved raising two miles of track and building temporary retaining walls to keep the project within the confines of the existing right of way, reducing cost and environmental impact.
