Ohio's OCTA selects RouteMatch ITS program

Oak Harbor, Ohio's Ottawa County Transportation Agency (OCTA) selected RouteMatch TS software, its flagship intelligent transportation system (ITS) software, for automated routing, scheduling and coordination of its public transit services.

OCTA, partially funded by the Federal Transit Administration and the Ohio Department of Transportation, is a general public transit system that provides curb-to-curb, advanced reservation, shared ride service to anyone in Ottawa County who wants transportation for any reason.

Along with providing general public service, OCTA contracts with the Ottawa County Department of Job and Family Services, the Northwest Ohio Area Office on Aging, Ottawa County Senior Resources, and the Ottawa County Board of DD to provide transportation and home delivered meals for their constituency.

RouteMatch Software will be converting OCTA from an outdated passenger transportation management software system that they have been using for 10 years to RouteMatch TS transit management software. They are expecting to utilize Enterprise Data Management, Batch Scheduling, RSE and Ad-hoc Reporting to increase efficiencies for their operations.

In the future, OCTA has plans to integrate the RouteMatch system with in-vehicle technology and systematically roll out Mobile Data Computer devices as they receive additional funding.
