The Brussels Transport Company STIB (Société des Transports Intercommunaux de Bruxelles) confirmed the acquisition of 65 bi-directional Bombardier Flexity Outlook trams. This confirmation results from two contracts signed in 2008 and is valued at $235 million.

The trams are equipped with the reliable Bombardier Mitrac propulsion and control system. They will be manufactured at Bombardier's Bruges site in Belgium, while the bogies will be produced at the Siegen facility in Germany.

Delivery of the 100 percent low-floor trams is scheduled between January 2013 and the end of April 2015.
