RouteMatch to provide software services in Idaho

RouteMatch Software Inc. was awarded a contract to provide transportation software throughout the state of Idaho.

The statewide contract will allow rural and small-urban transportation providers to improve their efficiency and productivity by using RouteMatch's technology for fixed-route and demand-response routing, scheduling, dispatching and vehicle tracking.

The solution also provides new approaches to delivering information to passengers and helping reduce no-shows. The RouteMatch system includes paratransit scheduling and dispatch modules, as well as fixed-route scheduling, CAD/AVL and customer information components. Two of the sites, Pocatello and Sun Valley, will also have real-time passenger information displayed on screens and LEDs at stops and transfer centers.

The contract, awarded through a competitive process, also includes the purchase of mobile data terminals that will show drivers where to pick-up and drop-off passengers. The data will be received on mounted terminals in the vehicles or through Blackberry mobile devices supplied to the drivers as a part of this procurement.
