Denver RTD re-ups with First Transit

First Transit Inc. renewed its contract with the Regional Transportation Department (RTD) of Denver.

With this contract renewal, First Transit will continue its strong relationship with the RTD, operating and managing the district's 68-transit buses. The contract renewal extends their current relationship for an additional five years.

"We greatly value our long partnership with the RTD and this contract renewal only serves to strengthen that relationship further," said Brad Thomas president of First Transit and First Services.

First Transit has provided service in Longmont, Boulder, and surrounding Boulder County communities since 2002. Each year, First Transit transports more than 2.9 million passengers annually in the area through its fixed-route service. The new contract will take affect Jan. 9, 2011.

First Transit provides complete operations and transit management services as well as comprehensive preventative maintenance and inspection programs to meet customer transportation and budgetary needs.
