HONOLULU — Mayor Peter Carlisle called a late press conference Thursday to say that Gov. Neil Abercrombie has signed off on the Environmental Impact Statement for Honolulu's rail transit Project, according to a KHON-2 report.

It is anticipated that the Federal Transit Administration will now issue a record of decision to allow Honolulu to break ground. Opponents say there are still more hurdles ahead before the $5.5 billion rail project starts rolling. For the full story, click here.
