London launches U.K.'s first hydrogen tour bus

LONDON — Last week, The U.K. rolled out its first permanent hydrogen bus on a popular tourist route in London. Seven more hydrogen buses will be added to the RV1 route — which includes stops at Covent Garden, the Tower of London and the South Bank — by mid-2011, guardian.co.uk reports.

Following a trial of three hydrogen buses in the capital between 2003 and 2007, the initiative has been described as a "stepping stone" to rolling out the technology across the country. The launch also coincides with the opening of the U.K.'s largest hydrogen refueling station. For the full story, click here.
