Tulsa Transit adds low floor vehicles

The 35 low floor vehicles will upgrade the majority of the agency’s fleet. The vehicles use drawbridge ramps instead of hydraulic lifts, allowing for easier access.

TULSA, Okla. — Thirty-five of the agency’s 50 paratransit vehicles are being replaced with low-floor vehicles, providing easier access to riders, TulsaWorld reports. Instead of using hydraulic lifts to load wheelchairs, the vehicles have drawbridge ramps.

Twenty-five of the vehicles have been put into service over the past few weeks, and the remaining 10 are expected to be delivered within the next month. For the full story, click here.
