Calif., N.Y. ask for Florida’s high-speed rail funds

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., ALBANY, N.Y. — After Gov. Rick Scott decided on Wednesday to end construction of Florida's high-speed train between Tampa and Orlando, California Gov. Jerry Brown said he would welcome the money and reiterated his support for the project, according to the Contra Costa Times. Meanwhile, N.Y. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand contacted U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood on Wednesday, asking him to redirect the funds to New York's Empire and Northeast Corridors, and Sen.
