U. of Wis. - Madison students may pay more for bus passes

MADISON, Wis.  — Due to public transportation provisions in Gov. Scott Walker’s budget repair bill, students at the University of Wisconsin – Madison may have to pay significantly more for Associated Students of Madison bus passes, according to The Badger Herald.

According to a Feb. 16 memo from the Legislative Fiscal Bureau, federal funds can only be issued when transit workers have collective bargaining rights, which would be stripped from workers in the public sector. If the bill goes through, Madison Metro may lose the funding. For the full story, click here.
