MV Transportation was chosen by Nevada's Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County to operate its fixed-route RTC RIDE transit service.
Following successful contract negotiations and approval of the final agreement, MV Transportation will transition the 70-bus operation from the in-house model run by The RTC to MV's turnkey model, providing maintenance, management and operations.
The RTC estimates MV's approach to save approximately $22 million over the life of the contract. MV Transportation is scheduled to begin service on July 1, 2011.
MV Transportation also operates fixed-route and paratransit services for Carson City, Nevada.
