PSTA names new CEO/Exec. Director

Following an extensive national search, the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority's (PSTA) board agreed on a contract with the current GM of Iowa's Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART), Bradford Miller. Miller will officially take the reins as PSTA CEO/executive director July 5, 2011.

Under Miller's leadership, DART was the largest and fastest growing bus system in the Hawkeye State and boasted one of the largest rideshare/vanpool programs in Midwest. He also spearheaded significant expansion of the transit system locally and long been active in numerous transit related and civic organizations, including the American Public Transportation Association and the National Academies of Science's Transportation Research Board, as well as many state and local environmental and transportation initiatives.

Prior to serving in Des Moines, Miller was the assistant chief operating officer for the Charlotte Area Transit System in Charlotte, N.C. for six years, where he managed all service operations, development and planning for the highly successful Lynx Light Rail line.
