To provide citizens with the latest information about transit and transportation throughout the eight county Tampa Bay region, the Tampa Bay Partnership has launched a new website, TampaBayOnTrack.

TampaBayOnTrack is an inclusive effort focused on sharing information about the role of transportation in the Tampa Bay community, engaging residents from throughout the eight-county region and serving as a resource for the latest transportation news and research.

The new site is the latest component of the Partnership’s ongoing efforts to support regional transit.

“During our recent advocacy efforts, we have identified a need for a comprehensive resource providing high quality, reliable, and fact-based information about transit and transit-related issues,” said Gary Sasso, president/CEO of Carlton Fields and Transportation Task Force Chair for the Partnership. “Our new website will meet this need.”

The site contains information on why transit is important, the work of the Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority (TBARTA), and updates on projects in each of the eight counties. It also dedicates an entire section to transit oriented development. A glossary and FAQs are provided to help readers understand transportation terminology that often causes confusion.

TampaBayOnTrack will establish an online community by providing regular, fact-based commentary and analysis of the latest transportation news and research. In addition to participating in this dialogue, users can sign up for email updates and action alerts, providing them with information on how they can influence critical transportation decisions.

With completion of the TBARTA Master Plan Update this year, the plan will soon go beyond transit to include highways, airports, seaports and freight networks that are important at the regional level, a focus that mirrors the partnership’s.

The Tampa Bay Partnership is a CEO-led regional economic development organization with a mission to work with its partners to market the region nationally and internationally, to conduct regional research, and to coordinate efforts to influence business and government issues that impact economic growth and development.
