WICHITA, Kan. — City officials plan on hiring a consultant to gather opinions about what people want from a bus system and whether they would be willing to pay to improve and expand it, according to the Wichita Eagle.
Last year, University of Kansas urban planning graduate students prepared a regional plan for Wichita Transit, which recommends north-south, east-west grid routes spaced about every half-mile.
The plan would cost an estimated $56 million per year with an additional $157 million needed for capital expenses, according to the report.
