Chicago Transit official pushes for more bus shelter technology
Transportation Commissioner Gabe Klein is calling for installing video screens in Chicago’s 2,200 lighted bus shelters. The technology would feature Bus Tracker information, car- and bike-sharing inventory and how long it would take to walk to popular destinations.
CHICAGO — The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Transportation Commissioner Gabe Klein wants to enhance the technology in Chicago’s 2,200 lighted bus shelters with video screens that would include Bus Tracker information now available on the Internet and cell phones; the current inventory for car- and bike-sharing; and how long it would take to walk to popular destinations.
