Miami-Dade Transit faces service cuts amid financial woes

MIAMI — Due to suspension of federal grant money to Miami-Dade Transit amid an ongoing federal investigation sparked by the FTA’s concerns about the agency’s financial management and internal controls, County Hall commissioners and administrators have discussed cutting services to Metrorail, Metrobus and Metromover if the crisis isn’t resolved soon, The Miami Herald reported.

However, the FTA may soon release $65 million of the $185 million in federal grant funds that it has withheld from the county since the cutoff began in November. For the full story, click here.
