Ga. DOT taps RouteMatch for scheduling, dispatch software

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) awarded Atlanta-based RouteMatch Software a $1.6 million scheduling and dispatching contract for its transit agencies statewide.

With RouteMatch's intelligent transportation systems (ITS) in place, GDOT hopes to help regional rural transit agencies improve operational efficiencies and ridership service by optimizing route scheduling and standardizing reporting across the state. Transit agencies benefitting from the Web-based solutions include small, regional, multi-county and large rural systems.

Utilizing RouteMatch's integrated technology platform, Georgia's transit agencies will be able to automate scheduling and dispatching, schedule trips while identifying funding source, automate billings for trips, track vehicle capabilities and inventory, and consolidate passenger manifests.

In addition, RouteMatch's technology will enable transit agencies to more easily prepare reports for GDOT and Georgia's Department of Human Services.
