N.Y. MTA response to hurricane shows lessons learned

NEW YORK — The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority had service running in time for the Monday morning commute after storms generated by Hurricane Irene hit the city, NY1 reported.

The timely recovery was due to extensive advanced planning and efforts to secure subways and buses, and de-energize the system based on lessons learned from its response to last year’s blizzard. For the full story, click here.
