Detroit people mover likely to cut service as funds disappear

DETROIT — The Detroit People Mover has only enough funding to continue at its current service levels until December, according to a Detroit Free Press report. City officials recently approved a 25-cent fare increase, the first since the 2.9-mile elevated light rail system opened in 1987, saying that reducing service is a better solution than shutting down the service completely.
