The Calif.-based Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is now offering the College Pass (C Pass) to students at 17 participating colleges. Students with the pass are eligible for unlimited rides on all local OCTA routes.

The C Pass offers a 75-day Quarter Pass or 120-day Semester Pass. Quarter passes are available for the discounted price of $95, while semester passes are being sold for $150. Both passes are valid for 75 or 120 consecutive days. In light of the current economic situation, OCTA changed the credit minimum to qualify for a pass from 12 to nine credits to accommodate students who are unable to enroll full-time.

"The C Pass is an ideal solution for students looking to reduce the cost of commuting to school," said OCTA Chair Patricia Bates. "With classes, work, social lives and family, students today are always juggling and we hope this will help make their lives easier."

OCTA also teamed up with California State University, Fullerton; Chapman University and University of California, Irvine to offer an exclusive University Pass to students. Students who are eligible may inquire about enrollment and pricing at their university.
