CHICAGO —The first 26 new railcars, on a 706-car order, built by Bombardier Transportation were delivered recently to the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) and will enter service soon, officials said.

The CTA expects to have 40 more cars delivered  by the end of the year and another 192 cars delivered in 2012, the Chicago Tribune reported. The new 5000 Series cars will replace trains that are up to 42 years old. To read the full story, click here.
