ARLINGTON,Texas — Dan Dipert, owner of Dan Dipert Travel & Transportation Ltd. and his wife, Linda, recently donated $400,000 to the University of Texas at Arlington for its new visitors center in an $80 million retail and residential development called College Park, Star-Telegram reported.

The school expects to open the Dan Dipert University Welcome Center next summer. Next year will also be the travel company’s 40-year anniversary. The mixed-use development is a partnership of the university, the city and First Baptist Church and will include a 40-seat circular theater with retractable glass walls and a 360-degree imaging board for electronic displays, parking garages and tour guide stations.
