DETROIT — Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) Director Lovevett Williams called department drivers heroes for saving 10 or 11 buses after an early morning fire erupted, destroying nearly $3 million worth of buses at a DDOT bus bay, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Investigators believe a mechanical issue with a bus parked inside a holding annex sparked the blaze. Williams said she expected "no major delays" in service without the eight buses that were lost. For the full story, click here.
