WASHINGTON, D.C. — Due to recent violence against bus operators the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) stepped up transit police presence aboard buses and is considering installing shields on buses to protect drivers.
Although Metro expects to test the shields on 100 buses this winter and spring, some board members questioned whether the shields may alarm riders, reported The Washington Post.
