FRESNO, Calif. — Construction of a high-speed rail line in the San Joaquin Valley, which was slated to begin at the end of this year, is now likely to be pushed back until early 2013, reported The Fresno Bee.
The delay is the result of revisions to environmental reports for the 120-mile Fresno-to-Bakersfield section of the rail line – part of the backbone of a proposed 520-mile system connecting San Francisco and Los Angeles.
