Calif. high-speed rail officials stick by ridership estimate

FRESNO, Calif.  — California High-Speed Rail Authority board members say estimates that passengers will take at least 29 million trips a year on high-speed trains between San Francisco and Los Angeles by 2040 are reasonable, Fresno Bee reported. 

The authority's board members are going on the offensive, hoping to bring public opinion back in favor of its bullet-train plans. Critics have opposed the business plan for the project. For the full story, click here.
