Resigning Ala. transit chief to receive $160K severance

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — As Peter Behrman's less than two-year tenure as executive director at the Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA) ends, the agency plans to pay $160,000 in severance, al.com reported.

The agreement strips Behrman of most of his authority in his final weeks at the agency and prohibits him from initiating any contact with city officials or employees. BJCTA officials blame Behrman for false threats of looming service shutdowns and deficits. For the full story, click here.
