TTC plan to ax transit chief could cost $500K

TORONTO — The Toronto Transit Commission’s (TTC) chairwoman told National Post that firing Chief GM Gary Webster would cost the city $500,000 in severance.

Webster, whose contract ends next year, is expected to be let go after a special TTC meeting. The move would cause a major shakeup for the transit commission, which has been criticized by Toronto Mayor Rob Ford's administration in a dispute over the best way to expand transit in the city.
