NJ Transit employees arrested for fare fraud

FREEHOLD, N.J. — The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office told CBS New York that two New Jersey Transit employees were arrested on Thursday for defrauding the agency out of thousands of dollars in ticket fares.

The employees allegedly recruited passengers to ride the train and but didn’t have them purchase a ticket. Instead, the recruited riders paid the employees a reduced rate. Prosecutors say that the employees then pocketed the cash. For the full story, click here.
