Cap Metro recommends fixed-route, paratransit providers

AUSTIN, Texas — Capital Metro staff recommended that McDonald Transit, a Fort Worth, Texas company that already handles bus operations of several Texas transit systems, take over much of the agency's regular bus service in August, according to the American-Statesman.

The cost would be almost $410 million for the recommended seven years of service, based on a three-year contract with four one-year options. In addition, MV Transportation is the agency staff's recommended choice to take over paratransit operations.

The board is scheduled to vote this week on both contracts. For the full story, click here.
