AMES, Iowa — The Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Agency (HIRTA) will resume senior transit operations after Heartland Senior Services discontinued its contract with the agency, to deal with budget deficits caused by substantially rising food and fuel costs, Ames Tribune reported.
