Winnipeg transit launches BRT system

Winnipeg Transit recently launched its new rapid transit bus service, branded the “RT.” The RT includes 13 rapid transit routes.

The 2.23-mile transitway is a high-speed roadway for buses, physically separated from the regular street system. Buses on the Transitway will operate at speeds up to 50 mph, free of any other traffic, providing very fast, reliable service.

A total of 18 Winnipeg Transit routes are affected by the launch of the rapid transit system. To read reporting from CBCnews.ca, click here.
