NTSB opens docket on Va. crash

In its continuing investigation of a motorcoach that crashed while traveling northbound on Interstate 95 (I-95) near Doswell, Va., the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has opened the public docket.

On May 31, 2011, the motorcoach, operated by Sky Express Inc., was traveling northbound on I-95 in the vicinity of milepost 103 in Caroline County, Va., when it departed the right side of the highway and rolled over. As a result of the accident, four passengers were fatally injured and 49 plus the driver sustained serious or minor injuries.

The information being released is factual in nature and does not provide any analysis. The docket includes: interview summaries, factual investigative reports, 67 photographs and other documents. The docket material is currently available here.

Additional material will continue to be added to the docket as it becomes available. Analysis of the accident, along with conclusions and a determination of probable cause will come at a later date when the final report on the investigation is completed.
