Honolulu halts light rail construction

HONOLULU — The City and County of Honolulu halted construction on its $5.16 billion light rail project following last week's Hawaii Supreme Court ruling against it, according to Pacific Business News.

Last week, the Hawaii Supreme Court ruled that state and city officials should not proceed with construction on the rail project until it completed an archaeological study of the entire 20-mile route. The ruling overturned a lower court decision from last year that sided with the city and state. For the full story, click here.
