Mass. agency extends Veolia contract

The Mass.-based Greater Attleboro–Taunton Regional Transit Authority (GATRA) renewed their management contract with Veolia Transportation.

The contract, which went into effect on July 1, 2012, is for one year with four one-year options.

Veolia employs 75 local workers and has managed service of the agency’s 100 vehicles for the past eight years, which includes operating and maintaining 50 vehicles for the Council on Aging. The other 50 vehicles provide transportation for the general public.

GATRA is comprised of 27 communities and extends over 700 square miles in Southeastern Massachusetts.
