HOUSTON — Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (Houston Metro) received a $188 million grant, providing funding for the new North and Southeast lines to connect the University of Houston (UH) main campus with the Energy Research Park pathway, The Daily Cougar.com reported.
The pathway will be close to the new light rail lines, helping with student transportation. Additionally, UH will build a new transit center that will accommodate the Welcome Center Garage, which will house Hertz Connect cars, a Metrorail train station, a UH shuttle stop and possibly a bike sharing program.
