U. of Utah negotiates 10-year transit pass deal

SALT LAKE CITY — After 16 years of renegotiating annually, a new deal between the University of Utah and the Utah Transit Authority would provide students and university employees with free transit passes over a 10-year period, reported The Salt Lake Tribune.

The university would pay an annual flat sum — $3.7 million this year — with a preset schedule of increases. The deal still requires U. trustees approval. For the full story, click here.
