Transportation Management Services Inc. (TMS) acquired certain assets and operations of Coach America Holdings Inc. and merged the acquired assets into its Horizon Coach Lines and Cabana Coaches operations. The combined entity is now one of the largest privately-owned charter and tour bus operators in the country. It will operate more than 1,200 vehicles.
TMS acquired operations in 15 markets: Los Angeles; San Francisco; San Diego; Phoenix; Las Vegas; Denver; Houston; Miami; West Palm Beach, Fla.; Orlando, Fla.; Jacksonville, Fla.; Charlotte, N.C.; Winston-Salem, N.C.; Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; and Jacksonville, N.C.
The acquired businesses will operate under the Horizon Coach Lines brand name and be based in Dallas. TMS will continue operations in most of the acquired markets while continuing to work with its existing independent bus network to meet the growing needs of its events and government services client base.
