Amtrak taps DeCataldo Jr. to lead NEC

Amtrak named Michael J. DeCataldo Jr., to the new position of GM, Northeast Corridor (NEC) Services.

In his new position, DeCataldo will have accountability for safety, customer satisfaction, ridership, on-time performance, and financial results for the Northeast Corridor business line. DeCataldo is currently Amtrak general superintendent, Northeast Division.

The NEC business line structure is part of the Amtrak Strategic Plan that will help “America’s Railroad” focus on performance improvements customers, partners, and employees can measure and take pride in. It includes the functions of the transportation, mechanical and engineering departments within a common business line for the corridor.

In addition to NEC Services, Amtrak is in the process of setting up business lines for long distance, state corridor and commuter operations.
