Couple campaigns after paratransit service cut

ST. LOUIS — Stuart and Dianne Falk — who both suffer from multiple sclerosis and are confined to wheelchairs — appeared in campaign posters for a half-cent sales tax after transportation cuts led to the elimination of Call-A-Ride van service at their nursing home, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

The paratransit service was reinstated after the proposition was passed in 2009. Last week, Dianne said that a paratransit driver told her “’You really saved our jobs.’” To read the full story, click here.
